Living Desert

My mom and I took the kids for a mini-getaway to the Living Desert in Palm Desert, one of our favorite spots! We went on Friday, spent the night in Palm Springs and then hit the "zoo" again on Saturday. We had awesome luck seeing the giraffes up close and seeing the mountain goats too (they usually elude us). We loved the Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden. The butterflies loved Abby. One landed in her hair and then let her hold him. It was a beautiful day!

Disneyland!

We hadn't been to Disney in a while but Kevin Ball was visiting from CT and he took us. Mimi joined us also and we had great day! The weather was beautiful! We had so much fun at Disney and finished the day at California Adventure to watch the parade and play at the Grizzly Bear Adventure Park. Brooke and Abby did the zip line, we tried to get pictures but they were so fast!

Beach Day!

The Wheatons hit the beach again yesterday and another great time. We spent the day at 32nd St in Newport (just a block away from Sara's old apartment). The kids built sand castles, played in the waves and we had a nice picnic. A really great day!

Spring Training '09

We got home last night from a quick and fun-filled trip to Arizona. This was an awesome trip! The kids did great and Mike and I were able to relax, watch some baseball and spend time with the family. My parents were also there so we spent time with them in the evenings. I grew up going to spring training. First as a kid w/my parents and then as I got older I'd go with girlfriends. This was a nostalgic trip for me and so special to now be going with my own family! We saw the Cubs, Angels and Dodgers. At the Angels game Brooke and Jack were both given balls since we were sitting in the front row. Abby was a great sport about it and said she'd just try to catch one the next day at the Dodger game.

March Already?!

I am not off to a very good start of doing my two postings a month goal but will do better. I will post a short slide show from Snow Camp. Brooke and I just got home from our camp with Adventure Guides (formerly Indian Maidens) and it brought back wonderful memories of my own trips to Snow Camp with my mom with the same program.
